There are plenty of reasons to support Calthorpe Community Garden, and lots of ways for you to help!
Your support allows us to:
Keep our garden open for the whole community
Support vulnerable families with young children
Support adults with learning difficulties and mental health issues
Give children access to nature and the chance to explore and discover
Give people access to open space who don’t have their own garden
Our community centre and garden is a hub for social and therapeutic horticulture, sports and community support. During the Coronavirus pandemic, we worked with volunteers and allotment holders individually and in small groups to deliver skill as many services as possible. Thanks to the Felix Project, we established a food bank which allowed us to deliver a weekly food parcel to 49 vulnerable households with the help of volunteers. We are also delivered potting compost and seeds and produced newsletters, videos and online tutorials and workshops. For children, we posted art supplies along with weekly fun facts and projects on Facebook.
You can donate to our community centre on by clicking the button below, with the option of a one-off or a monthly, recurring donation. We are so grateful for all the support we get from our donors and, just to give you an idea, your donation could provide:
