Help us raise money for our SEED campaign

This pandemic has eliminated our means of generating income.  We have a shortfall of £13,000 each month from sports pitch hire, café sales, venue hire and rental space for an advertising hoarding.  Without this income, we are struggling to meet a vital need for…

  • A food bank for 48 households which is growing week by week including cooked meals for the most vulnerable

  • Access to our garden for volunteers and vulnerable people to grow food, get some valuable exercise and social contact knowing they are safe and still following safe distancing

  • Seeds and compost delivered to people in isolation along with a newsletter online and delivered to our immediate neighbours

  • Weekend activities in the garden for children and families

  • Regular phone calls to those without access to the internet

We are asking for donations from those who are able to help, so that we can continue to provide the necessary support to our community during these uncertain times.

We fundraise throughout the year which provides us with a small amount of our income. We often have cake sales and plant/herb stalls to raise funds. However, due to the coronavirus and the unknown nature of the next few months, we are unable to throw a large fundraising event. We always welcome individual or groups offering to fundraise for us, and this can be done via the Local Giving link below.

Fundraise for us

If you would like to fundraise for our SEED campaign and have ideas on what you would like to do, that’s great! We welcome all forms of fundraising, such as marathon running, cake sales, sponsored school activities… the list is endless. With your donation we will be able to continue providing our vital services to our local community.

Sport

Creating better social conditions through sport and our garden activities allows us to provide opportunities for people to exercise, meet and take care of each other and the environment.

Education

Through the power of volunteering, our early years educator and our nature classes, we are able to provide our community of all ages with vital skills and critical social interaction.

Environment

Managing sustainable green space and community facilities through our living lab project enables us to improve our environment for all to enjoy.

Diversity

Diversity is a gift which we at Calthorpe cherish. Our community is non-discriminatory and welcomes people from all backgrounds. We create a healthy and inclusive atmosphere.

How you can help

Through our SEED campaign we are looking to raise money to keep our service open to those that need it the most. No matter the size of your donation, it will all get put to great use maintaining out service through these uncertain times. A £7 donation could provide a paint palette and art supplies for 1 child. A £25 donation could help provide seeds and compost for a vulnerable person at home. Whilst a £100 donation could provide cardboard food containers or compostable carrier bags for food deliveries.
